Avoiding Unnecessary Stress

Stress is not unavoidable in life. It is up to every individual to find and learn ways in preventing or decreasing stressful situations. Everyone that suffers from stress would love to find more ways to spend time with their families or friends. It would be nice to be able to increase one's performance and daily productivity.

One might find if one learns to manage their time wisely they will find that they have more time available to enjoy one's family and friends alone with activities. In order to better manage one's time one might:

Save time by learning to focus or concentrate on scheduling time for oneself.

Learn to keep a dairy of how one spends one's time. This should include how one spends their time at home; work; with family; and one's leisure.

Rank one's importance by importance or urgency. Devote your time to activities that have meaning to you.

Control one's commitments by not being over confident. Never give in to a situation if it isn't important to you.

Postpone having projects where you have to meet deadlines. It is better on one to break a larger project down to allow for one to have time to regroup . Smaller projects are better to handle and only requires a short term deadline.

It is essential to learn ways to cope with stress. One may try to record a stressful situation and review one's reaction . Check to see how you handled the situation and how you felt in that stressful situation. You should be able to change one's lifestyle to a more healthier one. Try to stay focused on the positive and learn how you can better control your life.

It is a fact that the lifestyle one chooses to live can have a lasting affect on one's life. One's behavior can cause immediate stress. One's lifestyle can be interrupted by the way one's body finds to handle stress. It is important that one learn to :

Balance one's personal; work ; and family needs. Learn where one's obligations lies.

Know the purpose of one's life.

Get adequate sleep. One's body tends to recover from stress while one is sleeping.

Balanced diets help to defeat stress.

Exercise as often as possible.

Avoid alcohol .

Avoid smoking.

You may find that it helps to stop your way of thinking. Try to avoid negative thoughts that may cause you to experience anxiety; fear; depression; rage; guilt; and insecurity. You are worthy and let no one tell you different. Your emotions can trigger a stress response. This is just a real threat. If you learn how to handle negative thoughts ,you may find that it helps in reducing your stress. Often you can learn techniques on your own, but there may be times when you may need to seek professional help from a counselor. Here are a few gestures in helping one avoid stress.

Thought -stopping helps one to stop negative thoughts.

Disproving irrational thoughts stops one from exaggerating on the negative thought.

Problem solving helps one to identify the stressful situation.

Changing one's communication style helps one to better communicate in a way that your thoughts are known without making another feel put down.

There are times when one may need to seek professional treatment for their emotions. This could be in a form of medication or counseling.
