Any idea about how many moles can be there on your body? In adults the number remains around twenty in different parts of the body. It can be less or a bit more. With time there are moles which fade away and mix with the skin. Thus apparently the mole is not something that disturbs your health and body. But if a mole is right on your nose, it might be the biggest cause to malign your looks. On the other hand there are moles that even add beauty to your features.

Can we then consider mole to be an integral part of our body system? If that's so why the process of mole removal is being taken so seriously? One obvious reason is the cosmetic or the beauty factor. But there is another major severe cause when removal of moles becomes mandatory. This is actually when mole has taken the form of a disease and already developed into tumor or cancer. Here the mole is no more innocent but has already taken the malignant shape.

Mole size and appearance

One of the basic tools to find out the condition of the mole is through its shape, size and instant appearance. The normal size of the mole is lesser than the tip of a pencil. The congenial part should also not exceed beyond seven inches. Thus if your mole is within the limited boundary, you need not worry about its becoming malignant.

If the mole gets a scar and blood comes out of it or you get an itching sensation around it, you can assure yourself that it is bound to turn malignant.

Mole color

Color is a part of the appearance. You can also be cautious if you notice some difference in the color of moles. The mole in normal condition is of a single color, black, brown and red. But if it is taking the shape of cancer, you will notice the change of color and notice patches forming around. The moles will form different shapes and shades.

Quantity matters

If you find the number of moles to increase in your ignorance, you must immediately get alert. Ultimately the disease will take the shape of cancer. So better get treated from a genuine dermatologist before the situation further deteriorates.
